Doctoral Course in BIODIVERSITY (Course of National Interest) – A.Y. 2023/2024 – Cycle XXXIX

A position for a Research Doctorate Course with scholarship is opened on the following topic:
 
A Citizen Science approach to study the biodiversity of Italian tardigrades in terrestrial environments, to promote the dissemination of knowledge of tardigrades and to raise the awareness on the value of biodiversity and its conservation.
The PhD student will have to:
-apply the integrated taxonomy to the species identification through morphological (light and scanning microscopy) and molecular (DNA barcoding and metabarcoding) analyses;
-biogeographic studies through phylogenetic and phylogeographic analyses;
-citizen science activities to collect samples from all over the Italian territory;
-promote the dissemination of knowledge about tardigrades to raise public awareness of the value of biodiversity and its conservation.
