Participation Subsidy Application UZI 2022

The UZI 2022 Participation Subsidy Application was created to provide financial support to unstructured staff (students - including PhD students, fellows, research fellows and temporary researchers - RTDa) attending the 81° Congresso dell'Unione Zoologica Italiana, which will take place at the University of Trieste, Italy, from 20 to 23 September 2022 (www. https://www.uzionlus.it/81-congresso-uzi-2022). Grants of € 500 will be awarded to 3 applicants.

This application has been funded by Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn - Napoli (https://szn.it/index.php/it/). The award aims to support the congress participation of young researchers, as this period has led to a drastic reduction in educational activities at universities, regular closures of laboratories, the cancellation of conferences and workshops and the reduction of training opportunities. In this scenario, young people experienced a situation of discomfort that hindered research. The scholarship offers the researcher the opportunity to attend the congress and give new impetus to his/her research in the field of zoology by presenting a poster or oral presentation and interacting with the scientific community. By funding this scholarship, SZN and UZI are wishing to support the contribution of young researchers to research. The award ceremony will take place during the congress.

How to apply:
Interested researchers should submit a short abstract of their research project together with their CV, a letter of motivation, a letter of support from their scientific supervisor and the submitted abstract. The scientific committee of the congress and a representative of SZN will evaluate the applications. The 3 best scientific profiles will be funded.
